PUP POLICY

We love when guests bring their dogs as Highwood Retreat is a pup's paradise! We'll provide a dog bed and bowls so that they feel right at home.

We ask that you do not leave your dog(s) unattended inside the tent if you leave the property. There is a one-time $25 pet fee and a maximum of two dogs is allowed. Please select the Pet Fee Extra Charge when booking.

FOOTWEAR

We have designed our grounds to give guests the experience of really getting away from it all. The camp is tucked into the corner of our secluded glade and is a 5-minute walk along a gravel path to the parking area. Please check the weather in advance of your visit and bring appropriate footwear. We always offer complimentary shuttle service between the camp and the parking area for guests and their bags for check-in and check-out.

WINTER STAYS

Highwood Retreat takes on a whole new charm in the winter. Our key features shine in the colder months, making this an ideal getaway for those seeking an unforgettable adventure. As well as the Vermont Castings Wood Stove, we add two additional heaters and our electric mattress warmer making winter camping in Vermont comfy and cozy.

The outdoor cedar shower is seasonal and is open between May and November.

MOBILITY ISSUES

If you or your partner have mobility issues and are concerned about the walk between the camp and the parking area, we are happy to offer our shuttle service for any trips you might be taking in addition to check-in and check-out. Let us know in advance and we can work out all the details and make the experience as seamless as possible.
