Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 11am. Due to the bespoke nature of the experience, we cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs.

Because the camps are off-grid with no running water, we do not provide cooking facilities. Guests are welcome to bring their own gear to cook over the fire pit or a personal camp stove, bring picnic fare or takeout from one of our local restaurants, or order from our small but mighty room service menu.

Of course! We provide all bedding, including luxurious sheets, pillows, down comforter, and blankets.

We always provide washcloths and hand towels. When the seasonal outdoor showers are operational (May through October), we provide fluffy towels, spa robes, sandals, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

Yes! It is pup paradise here. We charge a flat fee of $60 per dog with a maximum of two dogs allowed.

You bet! We provide firewood both for the wood-stove inside the tent and for the fire pit outside.

Each camp is about a 4-5 minute walk from the parking area along a gravel path. We will greet you and shuttle you and your things to camp for both check-in and check-out. Make sure to pack appropriately for the walk. We provide lanterns to help guide your way after dark.

If you or your partner have mobility issues, we are happy to provide the shuttle throughout your stay.

We designed this experience as a getaway for maximum two adults. We cannot accommodate kids or babies at this time.

Yes! The camps are battery-powered and there are outlets to charge your devices and electric lighting. No hot tools (hair dryers, etc) or electric heaters, please!

The camps are totally totally off-grid and there is no running water and therefore no flushing toilet. We use composting toilets that are immaculate and effective with no odor. We provide water for the safari sinks in the bathroom, drinking water in the tent, and the outdoor shower. We will replenish your supply as many times as needed. Our seasonal outdoor showers (available May to October) have hot, running water.

Miraculously, there is excellent cell service in the glade! We do not have Wi-Fi at Highwood Retreat.

With the two additional heaters, the electric mattress heater, and the wood stove, we are able to keep the tents so cozy and warm! We are happy to give you instructions with the wood stove so that you're feeling confident. Bring your coziest sweater and a sense of adventure and your winter camping experience will be both magical and memorable.

Due to the small size of our retreat, last minute cancellations do affect us considerably. Cancellations within fourteen days and no-shows will be charged the full amount of the stay. There is a 3% processing fee on all cancellations.
